About the contents of this box:

200g Ardtaraig Smoked Scottish Salmon

Quite simply our most popular product that we sell.

Our 200g pack of Ardtaraig Smoked Scottish Salmon is quite unlike anything you will find in the supermarket.

Our Scottish Salmon is smoked gently over a mixture of Oak and Beech wood in traditional London brick kilns using age old smoking techniques. This provides a wonderful light smoke that does not overpower the delicate flavour of our Salmon.

This pack will serve 2-3 people as a starter

Tasting Notes:

Clos de la Chapelle Brut Instinct 1er Cru NV Champagne 1er Cru, France

"Very pretty nose with mouth-filling fruit and delicate mousse. Nothing in excess.... Just the sort of fizz you’d be thrilled with at a
party" - Jancis Robinson. 60% Meunier, 25% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay. We love it for its soft mousse, great depth of flavour
and good length and ability to drink everyday.
The ''Cl. De la Chapelle'' Champagne brand 'was created in 1948 by winegrowers, who decided after World War II to join their
forces with the goal of developing and highlighting their age-old activity. Now a group of 21 growers based in Villedommange, just
south of Reims, a vineyard area covering nearly 30 hectares. The current members, all winemakers born to these families, are
the heart and mind of this terroir and produce excellent Champagne for you in the finest tradition of Champagne region.

Taittinger Brut NV Champagne, France

Very expressive nose. Delicate wine with flavours of fresh fruit and honey. In the books, James Bond drank Taittinger (as it was
creator Ian Flemming's favourite champagne). In the film version of From Russia With Love, Tatiana Romanova's glass of the
delicious bubbly was spiked with poison... The House of Taittinger subsequently withdrew their involvement.
Taittinger remains one of the few Champagne Houses to be owned and actively managed by the family named on the label. Its
origins date back to 1734 when the original house was founded by Jacques Fourneaux. The Taittinger link was established in
1931 when Pierre Taittinger, the founder of today’s company acquired the House. Pierre spent time in the Champagne region
when serving in the 1st world war as a young cavalry officer. Stationed at the Château de la Marquetterie, he fell in love with this
remarkable property and its vineyards and eventually purchased the company. Today, the Reims based House is headed up by
Pierre’s grandson, Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger and his son, Clovis and daughter Vitalie both of whom are actively involved in the
day to day running of this thriving family Champagne House.

Bollinger Special Cuvee NV Champagne, France

Big, Pinot Noir dominant, complex and quite masculine. This is very much Bollinger's house style. Madame Lily Bollinger, who
died in 1971, was the wine's greatest international ambassador. Once, when asked how she enjoyed her Champagne, she
replied, "I drink it when I'm happy and when I'm sad. Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company I consider it
obligatory. I trifle with it if I'm not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise, I never touch it - unless I'm thirsty."
Founded in 1829 by Jacques Bollinger, Paul-Joseph Renaudin and Admiral de Vilermont, the company came into it's own in the
20th century with Lily Bollinger at the helm. Bollinger's signature style was delveloped during Lily's tenure and it's rich, oak-aged,
Pinot dominant style has many dedicated fans.

Louis Roederer Brut Collection 242 Champagne, France

Dominated by Chardonnay which excelled in the vintage - ripe, rich and luscious.
"So much for the composition and concept of the new NV Brut Collection 242, but how does it taste? This debut release is very
impressive indeed, wafting from the glass with notes of pear, peach, ripe citrus fruit, toasted almonds, fresh pastry and white
flowers. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and textural, it's concentrated and layered, with lively acids, an enlivening pinpoint mousse
and a long, sapid finish. Brut Premier was already a very persuasive wine, but the new Brut Collection nevertheless represents a
step up."
93+ Points William Kelley, The Wine Advocate, Sep 2021
242 - Based on the 2017 Vintage. 44% Reserve wine - 10% from oak 34 % perpetual reserve. 42% Chardonnay 36% Pinot Noir
22% Pinot Meunier. 34% Malolactic. Dopsage 8g/l
""Roederer's Brut Premier was created in the 1980s to prove to consumers that we could deliver consistent quality with a blend
that compensated for less than perfectly ripe vintages," explains Jean-Baptiste Lecaillon. "We were blending in pursuit of
maturity, of ripeness. The concept behind the Brut Collection is the opposite: we're looking for freshness—and we are embracing
singularity, something we're emphasizing by enumerating each year's blend." This project has been in the making since 2012,
when Lecaillon set aside 21,000 liters of wine to constitute a perpetual reserve aged in large tanks without malolactic
fermentation. Sourcing has evolved too: less must is coming from cooperatives, and only vineyards cultivated without the use of
herbicides inform the blend. A dedicated team oversees all this, visiting every grower three times per year. And vinification is
parcel by parcel to deliver a maximum of blending components. "
The new Collection designation has been created in response to the warming climate and reflecting Roederer’s innovative spirit
and pursuit of excellence allowing more freedom after each vintage to make the best wine possible. Creation of a perpetual
reserve to maintain and enhance freshness and salinity in the face of climate change and ever more mature grapes. Increased
proportion of oak aged reserve wines. Lower dosage. Freedom of blending style, from cépage to proportion of reserve wines, to
ensure the best quality possible. Each collection number will be unique, but the style will always be resolutely Roederer. The
Collection number represents the number of blends since the inception of the house, to the base vintage.
The house of Roederer remains independent and family owned. They own over 240 hectares of vineyards (increasingly farmed to
Biodynamic principles) formed from 410 parcels with 90% in the Grand and Premier Crus of the region. All of their vintage styles
are made solely from their own grapes up to their legendary deluxe cuvee - Cristal.

The smoked salmon is of a very high quality. Champagne excellent. I personally hate to see a cheap bottle of wine or champagne in a gift box. Packaging is very up market and beautifully designed. I very welcome gift.
